Rules for Play
OBJECT
The object of the game is to become the wealthiest player
through buying and selling the commodities shown on the board.
EQUIPMENT
The equipment consist of a board, 2 dice, 6 tokens, 40 technical
analysis cards, 40 fundamental analysis cards, 20 expiration cards,
260 contract cards (5 contracts "BUY" and 5 contracts "SELL"
for each commodity in the game) and play money.
|
|
|
|
PREPARATION
Place the board on a table and put the technical analysis cards and fundamental analysis cards
face down on their allotted spaces on the board. To optimize card's management, separate
the contracts per commodity and the commodities per "SELL" and "BUY". Each player chooses
one token to representhim/her while rising with the Stock Exchange.
Each player is given $100,000 divided as follows: 10 - $100’s; 4 - $500’s; 7 - $1,000’s;
4 - $5,000’s; 3 - $10,000’s and 2 - $20,000's. All remaining money and contracts go to the Broker.
|
|
|
BROKER
Select as Broker a player who will also
make a good banker. If the Broker plays
in the game, he/she must keep his/her personal
funds separate from those of the Bank.
THE PLAY
Starting with the Broker, each player in turn
throws the dice. The player with the highest
total starts the play. He/she places his/her
token on the corner marked "START", throws
the 2 dice and moves his/her token in
the direction of the arrow the number of spaces
indicated by the dice. After the player has
completed his/her play, the turn to passes
to the left. The tokens remain on the spaces
occupied and proceed from that point
on the player's next turn. Two or more tokens
may rest on the same space at the same time. |
|
 |
|
If you throw doubles, you move your token as usual, the sum of the two dice, and are
subject to any privileges or penalties pertaining to the space on which you land.
Retaining the dice, throw again and move your token as before.
START
Each time a player's token lands on or passes over "START", whether by throwing the dice
or by landing on a space which indicates to pass "START", the Broker pays him/her $1,000.
$1,000 is paid only once each time around the board.

|
|
|
 |
BUYING CONTRACT OR SELLING CONTRACT
Whenever a player lands on a commodity contract,
he/she may buy that contract from the Broker and give
him/her the security deposit. If the player expects the price
of the commodity to fall, he/she will sell the commodity now.
If the player expects the price of the commodity to rise,
he/she will buy the commodity now.
A player may not hold a mixture of "BUYING" and
"SELLING" cards for the same commodity.
|
|
|
|
TECHNICAL ANALYSIS" AND "FUNDAMENTAL ANALYSIS" CARDS
When a player lands on either of theses spaces he/she takes the top card from the deck
indicated, follows the instructions and returns the card face down to the bottom of the deck.
These cards are scaled from 1 to 6 and correspond to the numbers of the dice. The player rolls
one die and identifies the price change per contract on the card corresponding to
the roll of the dice.
These results of these instructions apply to all players in the game holding commodity
contracts identified on the card and represent the change in price per commodity contract,
either up or down. If the price is up, the broker pays that amount to all players holding
a "BUYING" card of that commodity. All holders of a "SELLING" card of that commodity
must pay the broker the same amount. If the price of the commodity goes down, the broker
pays the amount to all players holding a "SELLING" and receives the same amount
from all players holding a "BUYING" card of that commodity.
When a player anticipated the price change correctly by buying or selling the commodity,
he/she is rewarded. If he/she made the wrong judgment to buy or sell, he/she pays
the Broker.
|
|
|
|
 |
|
 |
|
|
When a player has no further interest in holding a commodity,
he/she may return the card to the broker for refund of the deposit
in exchange for the player's turn. The player may also exchange all
his/her "BUYING" cards to "SELLING" cards or vice versa.
When a player lands on a commodity contract square that he/she
is not interested in; he/she is not required to acquire it and may pass
his/her turn.
When a player lands on an instruction square, he/she follows
the instructions on it.
When a player lands on an expiration square, he/she takes
an expiration card. All contracts identified on this card are terminated
and must be returned to the broker. The broker refunds the deposit
amount to all players holding such cards.
When a player has no money left and has enough commodity contracts
to pay his/her debts, he/she can return his/her contracts cards to the broker
for refund of the deposit, so he/she can stay in the game.
All trades must be done only through the Broker.
|
|
|
|
 |
|
|
CONCLUSION
A player is declared bankrupt if he/she owes more than he/she can pay. The player must
turn over to the broker all that he/she has of value (money and contracts) and retire from
the game as no borrowing from others players is allowed.
The player who holds the largest amount of money and contracts values is declared the WINNER.
The game can also end either by a time limit or an agreement of all players.
A reasonable game time for four players is two hours. |
|
|
|
Notes On Play
Pay attention to the frequency of the market's rise or fall
for each commodity. The analysis cards favor as much "BUY"
contracts as "SELL> contracts in the game.
Jackpot Rule: Any time a player must pay the Broker's Commission,
he/she can place the money in the middle of the board. Whenever
a player lands on "START",he/she collects the money in the middle.
